Tiddlers
Tiddlers Mother & Baby Group
Tiddlers has now stopped for the Easter holidays (two weeks). We begin the Summer Term on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th April.
Tiddlers is for all mums with a baby under one. It's a time for mums to have a coffee and chat whilst the babies play and make new friends.
We meet in the Church coffee lounge on Mondays and Tuesdays in term-time from 10am till 12noon.
Ring Liz on (01926) 400 368 for more details, or just come along and join us.
We have had another very happy and enjoyable year at Tiddlers. Each Monday and Tuesday morning the coffee lounge has been filled with mums chatting and babies playing. The lobby has overflowed with pushchairs, and the urn and the refreshment team have worked overtime. It has been a real pleasure to get to know so many young families, and be able to support and encourage them. Every mum with a baby under one year old is welcome to come along and join us. This autumn we were very pleased to have a group of expectant mums come along together. They enjoyed getting to know us, and it was lovely to meet their newborns when they arrived.
There doesn’t seem to be a need to advertise Tiddlers as new mums come along most weeks. People usually hear about us from friends and neighbours, and I gather we are highly recommended! We have welcomed back several mums with their second, third or even fourth baby, all of whom were very keen to come again. It’s particularly good to catch up with their growing families and hear about how their older children are getting on. We also hear about all the long-term friendships they have made through Tiddlers, which is very encouraging.
Since September we have been joined every Monday by a breast-feeding counsellor from the National Childbirth Trust. Kate has used the crèche room to see mums who drop in for help and advice. It has worked really well as new mums find out about Tiddlers, and some of our regular mums have appreciated Kate’s help. We have certainly gained a few new mums with very young babies, and the Monday group is thriving.
All the mums who come to Tiddlers comment on the excellent tea and coffee they are served each week by the ‘lovely ladies’. So a very big thank you to Margaret, Vicki, Heather, Cathy, Rebecca, Doreen and Dorothy for all your hard work during the year. You are really appreciated by the mums, and Tiddlers couldn’t run without you. We miss Cathy and Rebecca who have both stepped down from helping, but it has been lovely to be joined by Christine. Please remember to pray for all we do at Tiddlers during the coming year, as we seek to share God’s love with the mums and babies.
